The Motif Award was established to acknowledge and honor the many individuals whose imagination, talents, dreams and work have created systemic positive impact in the lives of youth globally. The honor is awarded during a special private ceremony held annually at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. The Motif is chosen by a selection committee charged with screening entries and delivering written recommendations to the Motif Awards Board of Governors, panel of scholars, and youth advocate professionals. Each entrant is reviewed on its own merit, initiative, and involvement in youth community projects. Only unanimously selected programs and participants receive Motif Award.

Each year, new honorees will join this celebrated group so that we may always remember the gifts of those people who know the elements of impacting the lives of youth authentically.
